Once again

Well, some more things have happened in our summer. So, here are the highlights:

1) Monck Park

About 12 of us went camping. We had three spots, one double site and another single across the road. We were right by the bathrooms and pretty clse to anything else we needed. Our weather was okay, dry, but kind of cold and windy. The first day was a beach day but the second was too cold, even though about half of the group tried to force it. There were many games played (Taboo, cards, some quiz game) and many hot dogs and other sort of meat products eaten. On Sunday, we sang together and Anna shared with us from her life and her experiences as a counsellor for a week at Rough Acres up north. Then we prayed together. The day we left, it was, of course, beautiful so we didn't want to go, but we did. I got to drive my in-law's RAV-4 home and Amber and Chantal were in the car as well as mass amounts of dirty, smoky supplies. I had forgotten to check the gas gauge for most of the weekend and as we were about 30 or so kilometres outside of 'Loops, the gas light came on. Luckily, most of it was downhill and we were able to coast into the Verse for gas and rejoicing. It was a good trip. 2 grads came too. It was awesome.

Rough Acres: Myself, Anna (my wife), Anna Z, Heather, Brent and Heidi were privileged to join Robyn up at her beloved camp just outside of Houston. The four girls were cabin leading, I was speaking and Brent was helping out everywhere that he could. There were about 50 12-14 year old girls at the camp. It was an amazing week for everybody. We were able to meet some excellent people at the camp, both staff and campers, and start some great friendships. And the Spirit of God was moving at that camp. He used everything and everybody to reach these girls and more than half of the camp either chose to follow Jesus for the first time or get back on track and give themselves back to Him. It was awesome. Not restful, but refreshing.

Thursdays: Since I last reported, there has been BBQ's, hang outs and bowling. Those that I have been at have been fun and I assume (even though I wasn't there) that the others were good as well. I must say that I enjoyed bowling but that's because I love bowling and I'm decent at it. If anyone else has other memorable moments you would like to share, feel free. That's it.
